My adventure to the Cotswold’s was a walking tour from one charming small town to the next. My family and I walked the Cotswold hills for 6 days staying in a different inn each night, some as old as 500 years. After a huge English breakfast it was off to walk the Cotswold Way (wold is hill in old English) or the Heart of England walking trail.
The path would take us through horse pastures, cow fields, barley or wheat plantings, and of course the ever present sheep pasture. The scenery was lovely and the pub stops were a grateful break for an afternoon pie and mash lunch.
The tour starts with a one hour train ride from London to the town of Morton-in-Marsh and the wonderful Manor House Inn. Very comfortable lobby and bar area and a great restaurant.
