My adventure to the Cotswold’s was a walking tour from one charming small town to the next. Otavalo is a city about 34 miles north of Quito, Ecuador (1 1/2 hour drive due to the mountains country). On Saturdays, the massive Otavalo market overflows from the Plaza de Ponchos and colorful textiles and crafts fill tents along streets in a third of the city. Otavaleños are famous for their weavings, everything from blankets and bags to sweaters and gloves.
Sacha Lodge in the Amazon Rainforest is a short 1/2 hour flight from Quito to Coca, The local markets of Coca are enjoyed for a short time before you board a two hour boat ride (large motor powered canoe) down the Napo River to the lodge, stopping along the way to see a fascinating museum which gives you a broad view of the life of native tribes living in the Amazon.

You can read all about it in my soon to to be published “Arriving in Puerto Vallarta” segment.
